Dear Webster County Community,
With the past year quickly being established in the pages history, I have taken much time to reflect and be grateful for the opportunity you have given me in the past four years. Serving as Sheriff has been and will always be the highest professional honor I hope to achieve. I am able to serve in a capacity in which I feel I can really make a difference for the betterment of our community.
These past four years have been filled with long hours, scary moments, extreme highs and lows for all of us in law enforcement. Resources are stretched financially and will be for an unknown time to come. But I want you to know, we have continued all normal services of peace keeping and I feel we are performing those services to a higher level than we ever have before. In past four years we have provided a new website (that allows for instant updates from the office to your cell phones), sex offender tracking program, obtained a new record management system, we have brought a K-9 into the county, helped with school safety and drug programs to help protect the most innocent of our citizenry. We have set up several neighborhood watch programs in high crime areas and worked tirelessly to follow up on all cases. Further we have allowed for completely anonymous tips with our Crime-stoppers program. We have without fail provided 24 proactive patrol(s) to the county for 4 years. Sometimes because of a lack of man power we have to prioritize our calls, but there has never been a time in four years that a call-for-service has gone unanswered. We have provided many other services that I can’t go into for sake of brevity. However know this, we are continuing to improve the office of Sheriff, day by day, one change at a time in an effort to serve and protect our citizens to the highest level possible.
I would like for everyone to know and understand as Sheriff I personally have served you and will continue to serve you to the very best of my ability. I take great pride in giving you my all. The elections are past and I want you know that I have worked very hard to earn your confidence and trust. In summary, I have taken this time to tell you from the deepest part of my heart, thank you!
I am grateful for the past four years you have given me and I am looking forward to serving you in the next four years. I have an open door policy. I will always make time for you and your concerns. To meet with me call Lynne at 859-2247 and she will schedule us a time to visit. You may also call me direct at 859-2653.
As Always, May God Bless You
Roye H. Cole
